The Ministry of Home Affairs has ordered the Chairman of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to completely shut down the social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, WhatsApp, YouTube and Telegram) for four hours across the country.
The decision taken because of this
Giving information to Geo News, the Ministry of Home Affairs has told that the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has banned all social media platforms across the country only on their orders. According to the report, all social media apps have been banned across the country due to violent Islamic groups for four hours on Friday.
According to Reuters, an official of the Telecommunications Authority said that this step has been taken to maintain the security system in the country. The Home Ministry sent a letter to the PTA chairman about the shutdown of social media, after which the PTA has taken this action.

In a letter sent to the PTA, the ministry urged for immediate action. Abdul Razzaq, the section officer of the ministry, wrote in the letter, “There should be a complete ban on social media platforms across the country from 11 am to 3 pm on April 16, 2021”.
Violent protest continues in Pakistan
According to various media reports, strict measures have been taken in view of the anti-France protests in Pakistan. Law enforcement agencies in Lahore say the decision has been taken after Friday’s prayers in view of the possibility of violent demonstrations by the Tehreek-e-Labbaq (TLP) party.
Earlier on Monday, the police arrested TLP leader Saad Hussain Rizvi, after which TLP supporters are protesting against the arrest and cartoon controversy against France. Please tell that Saad Rizvi gave the Imran Khan government until 20 April to expel the French ambassador for publishing a cartoon of Prophet Mohammed. So far many people have died in violent demonstrations by LTP activists.
