In a statement to reporters, Çavdri stated that Indian troops killed 5 innocent Kashmiri youth in Jammu Kashmir in the last few days.
Noting that a total of 18 Kashmiris were killed by Indian security forces from the beginning of October until the 21st of October, Çavdri noted that more than 40 people were injured.
On the other hand, Çavdri also referred to the United Nations (UN) High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet’s concerns about restrictions on non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in India and the arrest of activists.
In his written statement on October 20, Bachelet noted that activists and human rights defenders in India who opposed the change in the “Citizenship Law” excluding Muslims have been pressured recently, especially because of the mass protests they carried out earlier this year, and more than 1,500 people related to the protests were arrested.
Bachelet expressed concern about the narrowing of the space for NGOs, including the implementation of vaguely worded laws that restrict foreign funds and are increasingly used to muffle the voice of civil society.

Pakistan and India accuse each other of the unjust violation of the Armistice Agreement reached between the two countries in 2003 and the loss of life in Kashmir.
LIFTING THE SPECIAL STATUS OF CAMMU KEŞMİR
From 1947, when independence from Britain was achieved, Jammu Kashmir was in a privileged position to enact its own laws. This special status included citizenship law that did not allow foreigners to settle in the area and own property.
However, India abolished the special status structure of the region and divided the state in two by annulling the 370th article of the constitution, which has given privileges to Jammu Kashmir for more than half a century, on 5 August 2019.
On October 31, 2019, the state was officially divided into two regions of the center, Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh with “Union Territory” status.
Following the decision, Indian security forces intensified the public order operations and pressure on the people in Jammu Kashmir.
In addition to the curfew, internet, telephone and transportation restrictions were imposed, and directors and members of local parties in the region were detained.
