The Hindu community in Pakistan’s Mansehra district has moved the court over the occupation of an old Shiva temple.
Islamabad Two leaders of Pakistan’s ruling party Tehreek-e-Insaf (Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf) have faced serious allegations. They have been demanded to register a case regarding possession of the temple. Significantly, the Hindu community in Mansehra district of Pakistan has moved the court regarding the occupation of an old Shiva temple. According to the petition filed in the court, two leaders of the Tehreek-e-Insaf party, Sardar Guru Gurdeep Singh and Ravi Kumar, have been accused of occupying the Shiva temple.

The Shavana temple present in the district is a Shiva temple. It is the only temple for Hindus in the entire Hajra area. The petition was filed in the court by Sham Lal and Sajin Lal. The chairman of the temple has been Sham Lal for quite some time. He was the one who looked after the campus. But on 19 March 2021, he was refused entry into the temple premises. During this time MP Guru Gurdeep Singh and MLA Ravi Kumar were also there.

Complaint to the police did not work
The two leaders also uprooted the board of the society at the Shiva temple. When Shal Lal complained about this to the police station, the police ignored him. A day later, the SHO on the contrary threatened Lal that he should not try to go to the temple at all. Now Sham Lal has taken up the matter through the court. According to Sham Lal, due to being the ruling party, action is not being taken against the two leaders.
