Seven more COVID-19 positive persons died during the past 24 hours, taking the number of casualties in J&K to 1340 while Tuesday reported 677 new cases, taking the total infection count to 84,708, officials said.
As per the government, the fresh casualties include four from Kashmir division and three from Jammu division.
With the fresh casualties, the death toll due to the novel coronavirus has soared to 1340 in Jammu Kashmir, which include 903 from Kashmir and 437 from Jammu.
So far, Srinagar has reported 320 deaths, Baramulla 132, Budgam 90, Pulwama 74, Kupwara and Anantnag 70 each, Kulgam 43, Bandipora 42, Shopian 32, and Ganderbal 30.
In Jammu division, Jammu district has reported 227 deaths, Rajouri 44, Doda 40, Kathua 29, Samba 24, Udhampur 23, Poonch 22, 11 each from Ramban and Kishtwar, and Reasi six.
On Tuesday, J&K reported 677 coronavirus cases, which include 364 from Kashmir and 313 from Jammu division, pushing the total infection tally to 84,708.
The government said of the total 18,75,262 test results available, 17,90,554 returned negative and 84,708 positive which include 9866 active positive cases while 73,502 have recovered and been discharged including the 796 persons discharged during the past 24 hours.
It said, so far, 61,71,94 persons had been put under observation including 24,370 in home quarantine and 9866 in isolation while 49,206 people are under home surveillance and 5,32,412 persons have completed their surveillance period.
In Kashmir, Srinagar has a total of 16,901 cases, Budgam 5472, Baramulla 4963, Pulwama 4290, Kupwara 3944, Anantnag 3815, Bandipora 3720, Ganderbal 3190, Kulgam 2349, and Shopian 2102.
In Jammu division, Jammu district has a total of 15,502 cases, Rajouri 3035, Udhampur 2516, Doda 2411, Kathua 2280, Poonch 2029, Samba 2010, Kishtwar 1560, Ramban 1462, and Reasi 1157.
