The Jammu and Kashmir Government has evacuated about 2,63,579 JK residents, stranded in other parts of the country due to COVID lockdown, via Lakhanpur and through special trains and buses till date amid strict observance of all necessary guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures.
As per the official data received in this regard, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has received 95 special trains at Jammu and Udhampur railway stations from different states and UTs, so far, with about 79,968 passengers while about 1,83,611 persons from other states and UTs including 901 from abroad have been evacuated by the government through Lakhanpur till date.
As per the detailed breakup of the figures, about 2195 stranded passengers have entered through Lakhanpur from July 25 to July 26 mornings while 769 passengers have reached today in the 74th Delhi COVID special train at Jammu. So far, 74 trains have reached Jammu with a total of 64,272 stranded passengers belonging to different districts while 15,696 passengers have reached Udhampur in 21 special trains, so far.
DC Kupwara orders 3 day partial relaxation from July 28
Kupwara: In view of forthcoming Eid ul Adha and festive activities, District Magistrate Kupwara, Anshul Garg today issued an order wherein certain relaxations with some conditions have been granted for opening up of shops across the district from July 28 to July 30.
As per the order, shops shall remain open from 7am to 4pm and the COVID test has been made mandatory for all shopkeepers and their staff for opening the shops.
There shall be complete restrictions on opening of shops from July 31 onwards except those selling dairy products and vegetables, however there shall be no restrictions on the movement of commercial vehicles carrying essential commodities and construction material for developmental works during this period, reads the order.
The concerned ADCs, SDMs and Tehsildars have been ordered to issue roasters for opening up to fifty percent shops in markets of their respective jurisdictions to avoid large gatherings.
Lead District Manager has been directed to ensure operation of bank branches as per roasters to avoid overcrowding besides all the Managers have been directed to ensure usage of masks and adherence to social distancing at ATMs and bank premises.
The order further reads that the restrictions shall remain in force till August 03 or unless modified earlier.
Day 63: Jammu, Srinagar airports receive 22 domestic flights with 2,364 passengers
Jammu: On Day 63 of resumption of routine domestic operations in Jammu and Kashmir, 22 domestic flights with 2,364 passengers on board today arrived at Jammu and Srinagar Airports.
A total of 864 passengers aboard 9 regular commercial flights arrived at the Jammu Airport while 13 domestic flights with about 1500 passengers on board landed at Srinagar Airport today.
Pertinently, Jammu Airport Authorities have received a total of 478 domestic flights with 35,646 passengers while Srinagar Airport Authorities have received 775 domestic flights with 1,00,096 passengers since 25th of May till date.
Also, the Jammu and Kashmir government has brought back about 3,476 passengers from various countries to the Union Territory through special evacuation flights in the wake of global pandemic till date.
After arrival, all the passengers were tested for the COVID-19 and transported to their destinations at both the airports amid strict observance of all necessary preventive protocols.
The Government has made elaborate arrangements for the arrival, screening, sampling and proper transportation of the passengers to the quarantine centers taking special care of guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) prescribed by the Union Ministries of Civil Aviation and Health and Family Welfare.
