Five more COVID-19 patients died during the past 24 hours, taking the number of casualties in J&K to 1402, while Wednesday reported 624 fresh cases, pushing the total infection count to 89,582, officials said.
As per the government, the fresh casualties include four from Kashmir division and one from Jammu division.
With the fresh casualties, the death toll due to novel coronavirus has soared to 1402 in Jammu Kashmir, which include 938 from Kashmir and 464 from Jammu.
So far, Srinagar has reported 337 deaths, Baramulla 137, Budgam 90, Pulwama 79, Kupwara and Anantnag 71 each, Kulgam 46, Bandipora 42, Shopian 35, and Ganderbal 30.
In Jammu division, Jammu district has reported 240 deaths, Rajouri 45, Doda 42, Kathua 30, Samba 25, Udhampur 27, Poonch 22, Ramban 12, Kishtwar 14 and Reasi seven.
On Wednesday, J&K reported 624 fresh coronavirus cases, which include 396 from Kashmir and 228 from Jammu division, pushing the total infection tally to 89,582.
The government said of the total 20,75,701 test results available, 19,86,119 returned negative and 89,582 positive which include 8088 active positive cases while 80,092 have recovered and been discharged including 655 persons discharged during the past 24 hours.
It said, so far, 63,36,80 persons had been put under observation including 19,709 in home quarantine and 8,088 in isolation while 50,480 people are under home surveillance and 55,40,01 persons have completed their surveillance period.
In Kashmir, Srinagar has a total of 18,120 cases, Budgam 5726, Baramulla 5348, Pulwama 4477, Anantnag 4059, Bandipora 3912, Kupwara 4135, Ganderbal 3359, Kulgam 2425, and Shopian 2137.
In Jammu division, Jammu district has a total of 16,452 cases, Rajouri 3146, Udhampur 2596, Kathua 2348, Doda 2542, Samba 2098, Poonch 2170, Ramban 1533, Kishtwar 1790 and Reasi 1209.
