According to a press statement issued here, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr G N Itoo, accompanied by various concerned officers, paid a visit to the famous shrine of Syed JanbazWali (RA) where he took stock of arrangements for upcoming Urs of the saint.
The shrine of Syed JanbazWali (RA) is the most revered shrine in north Kashmir, situated on the bank of river Jhelum at Khanpora Baramulla. This year the Urs shall be celebrated on 10th of November, preceded by Shab-e-Khawni.
On the following Friday, some of the holy relics associated with the Saint will put on display for the pleasure of a large congregation of devotees expectedto attend the event from the adjoining areas of the shrine.
On the occasion, the DC paid obeisance and prayed for the peace, prosperity and progress of the J&K in general and for the District Baramulla in particular. The DC also met the concerned Auqaf committee members who appraised him about their issues and demands pertaining to the smooth conduct of the festive occasion, the statement further said.
The DC assured all concerned that the administration will make adequate arrangements including uninterrupted water and power supply and ensure cleanliness around the shrine so that devotees may not face any inconvenience. He also issued on spot directions to the accompanying officers to ensure that all the arrangements be made well in advance.
Meanwhile, DC urged for following the COVID-19 advisories and stressed for maintaining social distancing and using face masks.
However, DC also deliberated for not allowing any kind of large public gathering at the venue.
