Speaking during a special program to create awareness about precautions against the spread ofCOVID and project spiritual music as part of the identity of Kashmir, Khwaja Farooq Renzushah appealed to the Lt Governor to rename Tagore Hall after a Sufi saint of Kashmir so that the youth would feel a connection to the place. The event was organized today by Aab-e-Rawan in collaboration with Faith Hope Love here today, a press statement said.
The musical program titled “Bei Yi Bahar” (Spring will come again) was attended among others by Khwaja Farooq Renzushah, Chairman Kashmir Society international, Mr. Muneerul Islam Secretary J&K Cultural Academy, Mr. Fayaz Ahmad Kuthu, President Travel Agents Association of Kashmir (TAK) and Dr Abdul Majeed Mir, Vice President, Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry. A number of writers and intellectuals as well as a large number of youth also attended the program.
While speaking on the occasion,Khwaja Farooq Renzushah appreciated Aab-e-Rawan for presenting a mesmerising programme of spiritual music revering the Saadat’s of Kashmir. He said that during the last 700 hundred years, the Kashmiri civilisation has been shaped as a proud one by our spiritual guides. But it is high time that the people of Kashmir visit these values again.
He said that to retain the identity of Kashmir, the new generation will have to understand faith, hope and love concealed in verses and books of our Sufi legends. He appreciated the present administration and commended the recent announcement to establish a cultural centre at the historicalShairGhari Palace.
Speaking on the occasion, Renzushah also said that althoughRabindarNath Tagore was a well-respected and eminent poet and associating his name with Tagore Hall was an honour, but it is time that this hall get a name with local relevance. He appealed Lt. Governor Mr. Manoj Sinha to rename Tagore Hall after some Sufi saint of Kashmir.
He also appreciated the present Secretary Cultural Academy for his role in projecting and reviving Sufi original culture of Kashmir. Secretary J&K Cultural Academy, Muneer-ul- Islam said on the occasion that he will take the young talent of Kashmir to different avenues where they will get a better chance to project the rich culture of Kashmir.
The speakers also stressed on taking all the precautions against COVID-19 to keep it from spreading further.
The event witnessed musical performances by various artists as well as a Ladi Shah skit.
