ISLAMABAD — The number of active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan has dropped from 10,188 to 9,031, the country’s health ministry said Tuesday on its website.
According to the official statistics, 293,711 people were tested positive of the disease in Pakistan and out of which 278,425 recovered whereas 6,255 died of it, since February when the first person was tested positive of the disease in the country.

BEIJING — No new locally-transmitted COVID-19 cases were reported Tuesday across the Chinese mainland, the National Health Commission said Wednesday.
A total of 15 confirmed cases arriving from outside the mainland were reported Tuesday, the commission said in its daily report.

SAO PAULO — Brazil on Tuesday said it registered 1,271 more deaths from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 116,580.
According to the Ministry of Health, the total number of confirmed cases of infection reached 3,669,995, after tests detected 47,134 new cases in the same 24 hours.

SANTIAGO — Chile’s total number of novel coronavirus infections reached 400,985 on Tuesday, after tests detected 1,406 new cases in the past 24 hours.
In the same 24-hour period, 42 more patients died of the disease, taking the death toll to 10,958, according to data provided by the Health Ministry.

MEXICO CITY — Mexico will participate in clinical trials of a vaccine being developed by Italy against COVID-19, Mexican Foreign Affairs Minister Marcelo Ebrard said on Tuesday.

ANKARA — Turkey’s COVID-19 cases increased by 1,502 to a total of 261,194 on Tuesday, Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said.
Meanwhile, 24 people died in the past 24 hours, taking the death toll to 6,163, Koca tweeted.
Turkish health professionals conducted 98,231 tests in the past 24 hours, bringing the overall number of tests to 6,521,640, he said.

DUBAI — The United Arab Emirates on Tuesday announced 339 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total confirmed cases in the country to 67,621.
The Ministry of Health and Prevention said 172 more patients have recovered from the virus, taking the tally of recoveries in the UAE to 58,754.
It also confirmed one more death, pushing the country’s death toll to 377.
