DHAKA — Bangladesh on Thursday recorded 3,500 new COVID-19 cases for the third consecutive day, the highest in the country since July last year.
A total of 3,587 new cases and 34 more deaths were reported in a day, making the tally of cases at 584,395 and death toll at 8,797, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said. (Bangladesh-COVID-19 cases)

NEW DELHI — India’s COVID-19 tally reached 11,787,534 on Thursday as 53,476 new cases were reported from across the country, the highest this year, according to the latest figures released by the federal health ministry.
Meanwhile, 251 more deaths since Wednesday morning took the death toll to 160,692. There are still 395,192 active cases in the country, while 11,231,650 people have been discharged from hospitals after medical treatment. (India-COVID-19 tally)

ISLAMABAD — Pakistan on Thursday held the Pakistan Day military parade in the capital Islamabad with full zeal and fervor.

MALE — The first batch of COVID-19 vaccines and anti-epidemic materials donated by China to the Maldives arrived Wednesday night and were officially handed over on Thursday.
