Lahore A disputed Bill has been introduced in the Assembly of Sindh Province of Pakistan. The draft of this bill contains provisions to make marriage mandatory when people are 18 years old to control social evils, rape of children and immoral activities.

Affidavit will have to be submitted
Syed Abdul Rashid, a member of the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) of the Provincial Legislative Assembly, has introduced a draft ‘Sindh Compulsory Marriage Act, 2021’. It states that the parents of such adults whose age is 18 years, if they are not married, will have to present an affidavit before the Deputy Commissioner of the district with a reasonable reason for its delay.
The draft of the proposed bill states that parents who fail to submit affidavits will also have to pay a fine of Rs 500. According to Rashid, if this bill gets the money to make laws, then it will increase prosperity in the society.
Right to marry
In a video statement after the proposed bill was introduced, Rashid said that social evils and immoral activities are increasing in the country. He said that to curb these, Muslim men and women have been given the right to marry after the age of 18 years. It is the responsibility of their parents, especially the parents, to complete it.

Vaccination of five percent of the population
On the other hand, Pakistan has started anti-corona virus vaccination of its entire adult population. So far only five percent of the population has been vaccinated in the country. Planning and Development Minister Asad Omar tweeted that vaccination registration will be open for people 19 years of age or older from Thursday. Till now, people 30 years or older were getting vaccinated.
