Assistant Commissioner of Rondo Miraj Alam said that the bus was coming from Rawalpindi and there were 18 passengers in it. Two passengers were unloaded at their stations before the incident.
According to the news of Radio Pakistan, the bus was going from Rawalpindi to Sakardu (Rawalpindi to Sakardu), when it got hit by landslide in Rondo area of Gilgit-Baltastan and the bus fell into a deep ditch. Landslides occur frequently in the region.

According to the report, the incident took place on Saturday night (Sunday) in the Tangos area on the Jaglot-Skardu road. As the bus was passing through this area, then a sudden landslide occurred and the bus hit it. The accident was so horrific that the passengers of the bus flew away and all the passengers were buried under the debris. After receiving information about the incident, a team of rescue teams arrived on the spot and relief work was started.
In a statement after the rescue work was completed, SDPO Hassan said that the rescue work has been completed. Sixteen bodies have been recovered from the bus wreck. Six of them have been identified, including driver and conductor.
