Islamabad In Pakistan, a woman journalist of a government TV channel was shot dead on Saturday at her home. The deceased woman journalist has been identified as Shaheena Shaheen Baloch. She was an anchor and reporter in a government TV channel.
According to the information, Shaheena was transferred a few days ago in Turbat, Balochistan. Shaheena’s husband is also alleged to have been involved in the murder.

According to the police, Shaheena’s husband Mehrab Gichki came to the hospital with the body of his wife in the car. But he escaped after a while. Police further stated that the woman had died due to the bullet. In the initial investigation, police found blood stains, an empty pill shell and a bullet from Gichki’s house. At present, the police have registered a case against Gichki and started investigation.
Shaheena was doing Ph.D from Quetta University
According to the information, 27-year-old Shaheena previously worked for a private TV channel. After this, when he was selected in the government TV channel. After working in Islamabad for a few months, he was transferred to Balochistan in Turbat. It is being told that Shaheena was also the editor of a local magazine. She was also pursuing her PhD from Quetta University.
Police have said that Shaheena was killed by entering her house. According to police, the two attackers arrived at his house. As soon as the door was opened, he opened fire on Shaheena. Shaheen hit five bullets.

Locals say that Shaheena was murdered by her husband, as she was becoming very famous in Balochistan. Shaheena was the editor of a Baluchi language magazine and also hosted a program on ‘PTV Bolan’. She worked to empower Baloch women.

Let me tell you that such attacks are continuously happening on journalists and women in Pakistan. In 2018 a report was released by The Aurat Foundation. In this report it was estimated that 50 people including 30 women were killed in Balochistan in the name of honor. This organization was working for the protection of women’s rights.
It is known that earlier in May last year, a female journalist named Uruz Iqbal was shot and killed. She used to work for a private TV channel. According to a report, 61 journalists have been killed in Pakistan in the last 28 years since 1992.
