Apni Party leader and former MLA Kokernag Abdul Rahim Rather has demanded that the branches of the Jammu and Kashmir Bank which stand sanctioned but have been kept on hold, should be made operational at an earliest.
In a statement issued here, Rather said the branches of the bank for Mathindoo and Soaf Shali have been sanctioned over two years before and the branches for Naropora and Hardpora were also at a stage of their finalization.
He has expressed anguish over the delay being made in the opening of these branches which has subjected the people of and around these locations to much hardship. He has impressed upon the authorities of the bank to go for early installation of these branches so that the public doesn’t suffer any more.
Rather said that some more branches which were proposed by him during his tenure as MLA, in consonance with the RBI directives for broader financial inclusion of the rural people, and were in pipeline which include Kharpora, Guridraman, Bidhard/Dessu, Magam Sundbrari, and Nagam in Kokernag constituency, should also receive an early attention.
He has demanded that the ATM facilities, at the locations projected by him in his capacity as MLA, should also receive early attention for an early installation.
