Bashir Ahmad Basheer was elected sixth-time president of The New Kashmir Fruit Association (NKFA) on Thursday in general elections while the office bearers, body members were also elected for the 2020 year.
As per the statement issued to the media, the general election of office bearers and body members of the New Kashmir Fruit Association, fruit marketing complex, Parimpora were held on Wednesday and its results were declared on Thursday.
“The process of casting of votes was fixed from 10 in the morning till 2 afternoon, thereafter the time was extended for one more hour on the request of the voter members,” it said.
The voters cast 85 percent of the votes, on the basis of his work and leadership Bashir Ahmad Basheer was elected as president of NKFA for the sixth time.
However, Anil Kumar was elected as Vice President NKFA, Mohammad Ayoub Bhat as General Secretary, Ch. Muhammad Shahid joint Secretary, Abdul Majeed Reshi member accounts, Muhammad Yaseen Bhat Chairman Trade Settlement Committee, Ghulam Ahmad Dar Chairman Transport Committee.
The other working members elected include Omar Jan, Bashir Ahmad Shah, Raja Zahoor Ahmad Khan, Abdul Hamid Dar, Bashir Ahmad Sofi, Farooq Ahmad Rather, Ghulam Nabi Katoo, Muhammad Ishfaq Dar, Ashraf Ahmad Jalla.
The oath ceremony shall be held in the premises of the Association’s Central Hall on September 2 at 2 pm.
