Nine more COVID-19 positive persons died during the past 24 hours, taking the number of casualties in J&K to 1291 while Thursday reported 696 new cases, taking the total infection count to 81,793, officials said.
As per the government, the fresh casualties include seven from Jammu division and two from Kashmir division.
With the fresh casualties, the death toll due to novel coronavirus has soared to 1291 in Jammu Kashmir, which include 882 from Kashmir and 409 from Jammu.
So far, Srinagar has reported 310 deaths, Baramulla 126, Budgam 89, Pulwama 72, Kupwara 70, Anantnag 69, Kulgam 43, Bandipora 41, Shopian 32, and Ganderbal 30.
In Jammu division, Jammu district has reported 212 deaths, Rajouri 39, Doda 38, Kathua 28, Samba 24, Udhampur 22, Poonch 18, 11 each from Ramban and Kishtwar, and Reasi six.
On Thursday, J&K reported 696 fresh coronavirus cases, which include 420 from Kashmir and 276 from Jammu division, pushing the total infection tally to 81,793.
The government said of the total 17,80,540 test results available, 16,98,747 returned negative and 81,793 positive which include 11,482 active positive cases while 69,020 have recovered and been discharged including the 1336 persons discharged during the past 24 hours.
It said, so far, 6,07,830 persons had been put under observation including 26,357 in home quarantine and 11,842 in isolation while 47,862 people are under home surveillance and 5,20,838 persons have completed their surveillance period.
In Kashmir, Srinagar has a total of 16,164 cases, Budgam 5264, Baramulla 4761, Pulwama 4169, Kupwara 3827, Anantnag 3707, Bandipora 3646, Ganderbal 3075, Kulgam 2317, and Shopian 2079.
In Jammu division, Jammu district has a total of 14,950 cases, Rajouri 2921, Udhampur 2443, Doda 2371, Kathua 2175, Poonch 1957, Samba 1926, Kishtwar 1471, Ramban 1430, and Reasi 1098.
