Nine more persons died of COVID-19 during the past 24 hours, taking the number of casualties in J&K to 703 while 535 fresh cases were reported on Monday, officials said.
As per the government, the fresh casualties include two each from Srinagar, Kupwara and Jammu, one each from Pulwama, Anantnag and Doda.
With the fresh casualties, the death toll due to novel coronavirus has soared to 703 in Jammu Kashmir, which includes 637 from Kashmir and 66 from Jammu.
So far, Srinagar has reported 221 deaths, Baramulla 100, Budgam 60, Anantnag 50, Pulwama 49, Kupwara 48, Kulgam 35, Shopian 28, Bandipora 25, and Ganderbal 21.
In Jammu division, Jammu district has 44 deaths, Rajouri five, Poonch and Doda four each, Kathua three, Udhampur and Samba two each, Ramban and Kishtwar one each.
On Monday, J&K reported 535 fresh coronavirus cases which include 290 from Kashmir and 245 from Jammu division, pushing the total infection tally to 37,698.
Today’s cases include 139 from Jammu district, followed by Srinagar with 90, Pulwama 52, Bandipora 38, Kathua 33, Udhampur 27, Budgam 25, Kupwara 19, Anantnag 18, Baramulla 16, Rajouri 13, Doda nine, Kishtwar eight, Kulgam and Shopian seven each, Samba and Reasi six each, and Poonch three.
The government said of the total 9,66,412 test results available, 9,28,714 returned negative and 37,698 positive which include 7980 active positive cases while 29,015 have recovered and been discharged including 505 persons discharged during the past 24 hours.
It said, so far, 4,61,461 persons had been put under observation including 45,562 in home quarantine and 7980 in isolation while 45,170 people are under home surveillance and 3,62,046 persons have completed their surveillance period.
In Kashmir, Srinagar has a total of 9273 cases, Baramulla 2826, Pulwama 2643, Budgam 2507, Anantnag 2332, Bandipora 2180, Kupwara 2094, Kulgam 1925, Shopian 1709, and Ganderbal 1433.
In Jammu division, Jammu district has 3288 cases, Kathua 904, Rajouri 901, Udhampur 837, Samba 712, Ramban 654, Doda 424, Poonch 416, Reasi 395 and Kishtwar 250.
