The Jammu and Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation (JKSRTC) Workers Union on Wednesday welcomed the decision of the government in restoring SRO-157 in Kashmir division and called it a “big relief for JKRTC”.
In a statement issued by the JKSRTC Workers Union, Chief Spokesman Mehmoodur Riyaz quoted Union Chairman Wajahat Hussain saying that the RTC under SRO 157 has exclusive right to provide transport to agencies and departments of UT of J&K.
“Some unscrupulous elements played their negative role and JKRTC was deprived of the privilege of SRO-157,” he said, adding, “JKRTC Workers Union was not a mute spectator and agitated dilution of SRO-157 at different forums and went on a strike.”
He further said that by restoring SRO-157 in respect of Kashmir Division by the Govt on Wednesday vide order No.102-(FCS&CA) of 2020 dated 09.09.2020 has created a new chapter in the history of JKSRTC and will infuse new life to ailing RTC.
“JKRTC Workers Union is grateful to Lt. Guv, Advisor to Guv, Chief Secretary, Commissioner/Secretary to Govt Transport Department and Commissioner Secretary to FCS&CA Department,” he said.
