Scores of locals from Natipora-Baghat on Tuesday expressed gratitude to the Roads and Building department (R&B) for repairing Natipora-Baghat foot-bridge.
Rising Kashmir on 10 August reported the issue and highlighted the dilapidated condition of Natipora-Baghat footbridge, which was causing inconvenience to the commuters and locals.
In response to that R&B has taken positive action on the ground, and redressed the issue in time. As per locals, R&B department has recently repaired Natipora-Baghat iron foot-bridge, which leads to all-important Bone and Joint Hospital in Barzulla.
A local resident Manzoor Ahmad thanked Rising Kashmir for bringing the issue in the notice of the R&B department.
“I am satisfied for timely action taken by the R&B and repairing of the foot-bridge in time,” he said.
Soon after the grievance was brought under the notice of the concerned authorities, they immediately came into action, resulting in repairing of Natipora-Bhaghat iron footbridge.
Another local Jahangir Ahmad expressed his satisfaction and told Rising Kashmir that the bridge is now safe for everyone and no one would face any problem.
“We won’t be worried about our children anymore after the R&B have repaired the bridge,” he said, and added, “This iron footbridge is safe for our children as they have to pass through this bridge. We are thankful to R&B officials for immediate redressing of the issue.”
Earlier, the iron footbridge had caused concern among commuters as most of the iron plates were damaged due to corrosion.
