JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday recorded 578 fresh COVID-19 cases, while seven fatalities took place in the past 24 hours, taking the tally to 87,942 and the death toll to 1,379, officials said.
Out of the fresh cases, 193 are from Jammu and 385 from the Kashmir Valley, they said.
Srinagar district reported the highest number of 167 fresh COVID-19 cases, followed by 119 in Jammu district, the officials said.
There are 8,677 active coronavirus cases, while 77,886 patients have recovered so far, they said.
Meanwhile, seven deaths took place in the past 24 hours in Jammu and Kashmir – three in Jammu region and four in the valley – taking the death toll to 1,379, the officials said.
According to the daily Media Bulletin, out of 87,942 positive cases, 8,677 are Active Positive, 77,886 have recovered and 1,379 have died; 457 in Jammu division and 922 in Kashmir division.
The Bulletin further said that out of 20,04,113 test results available, 19,16,171 samples have been tested as negative till October 18, 2020.
Till date 6,27,750 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 21,218 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 8,677 in isolation and 52,490 in home surveillance. Besides, 5,43,986 persons have completed their surveillance period.
Providing district-wise breakup, the Bulletin said that Srinagar has 17,697 positive cases (including 167 cases reported today) with 1,865 Active Positive, 15,500 recovered (including 104 cases recovered today), 332 deaths; Baramulla has 5,215 positive cases (including 52 cases reported today) with 1279 Active Positive, 3,801 recovered (including 37 cases recovered today), 135 deaths; Pulwama reported 4,414 positive cases (including 16 cases reported today) with 270 active positive cases, 4,068 recovered (including 30 cases recovered today), 76 deaths; Kulgam has 2,395 positive cases (including 07 cases reported today) with 95 Active Positive, 2,257 recoveries (including 03 cases recovered today), 43 deaths; Shopian has 2,118 positive cases with 86 Active Positive, 1,999 recovered (including 03 cases recovered today), 33 deaths; Anantnag district has 3,973 positive cases (including 49 cases reported today) with 347 Active Positive, 3,556 recovered (including 15 cases recovered today), 70 deaths; Budgam has 5,647 positive cases (including 33 cases reported today) with 436 Active Positive and 5,121 recovered (including 55 cases recovered today), 90 deaths; Kupwara has 4,076 positive cases (including 32 cases reported today) with 304 Active Positive, 3,701 recovered (including 12 cases recovered today), 71 deaths; Bandipora has 3,846 positive cases (including 15 cases reported today) with 292 Active Positive, 3,512 recovered (including 24 cases reported today), 42 deaths and Ganderbal has 3,315 positive cases (including 14 cases reported today) with 263 active positive cases, 3,022 recoveries (including 27 cases recovered today) and 30 deaths.
Similarly, Jammu has 16,106 positive cases (including 119 cases reported today) with 1,128 active positive cases, 14,741 recoveries (including 140 cases recovered today), 237 deaths; Rajouri has 3,120 positive cases (including 09 cases reported today) with 359 active positive cases, 2,716 recovered (including 42 cases recovered today), 45 deaths; Ramban has 1,510 positive cases (including 06 cases reported today) with 76 active positive, 1,423 recoveries and 11 deaths; Kathua has 2,328 positive cases (including 02 cases reported today) with 58 Active positive, 2,240 recovered (including 05 cases recovered today), 30 deaths; Udhampur has 2,561 positive cases with 146 active positive cases, 2,390 recovered and 25 deaths; Samba has 2,067 positive cases (including 06 cases reported today) with 395 Active Positive, 1,648 recoveries (including 36 cases reported today), 24 deaths; Doda has 2,502 positive cases (including 12 cases reported today) with 253 active positive cases, 2,207 recoveries (including 47 cases recovered today), 42 deaths; Poonch has 2,139 positive cases (including 14 cases reported today) with 613 active positive, 1,504 recoveries (including 14 cases reported today), 22 deaths; Reasi has 1,193 positive cases (including 03 cases reported today), with 178 active positive, 1,008 recoveries and 07 deaths while Kishtwar has 1,720 positive cases (including 22 cases reported today), with 234 active positive cases and 1,472 recoveries (including 04 cases recovered today) and 14 deaths.
According to the bulletin, of the total 87,942 positive cases in J&K 9,392 have been reported as travelers while 78,550 as others.
