The Emirates Pakistan Voluntary Field Hospital has succeeded in alleviating the suffering of people affected by floods in Pakistan, by providing diagnostic, curative and preventive services.
Doctors from the UAE and Pakistan participate in the initiative, who are volunteers in the Young Humanitarian Leaders Program, within the framework of the Zayed Global Humanitarian Campaign, under the slogan “Following in the Footsteps of Zayed”, in coordination with the UAE Embassy in Pakistan.
The move comes with a joint initiative by “Zayed Giving”, the Dar Al Ber Society, the Sharjah Charitable House Foundation, the Saudi German Hospitals Group, the Emirates Giving Initiative, and the Emirates Emergency and Disaster Medical Response Program (Response), in a distinct model for volunteer work, charity, community giving and tolerance.
The humanitarian tasks of the UAE doctors are a continuation of the humanitarian and charitable tasks of the Zayed Giving Initiative in various countries of the world, which contributed to alleviating the suffering of millions of people, regardless of color, gender, race or religion.
For her part, the Ambassador for Humanitarian Action, Dr. Reem Othman, said that the Emirates-Pakistan Voluntary Field Hospital was able to attract hundreds of medical personnel from the Emirates and Pakistan, and enable them to volunteer in the field at the field hospital headquarters in Pakistani villages, or virtually through the Virtual Medical Response Center. For his part, Emirati cardiac surgeon, Dr. Adel Abdullah Al-Shamri, CEO of the Zayed Giving Initiative, explained that the operation of the voluntary mobile hospital in Pakistan comes within the framework of the UAE’s efforts to help the Pakistani people, based on the approach established by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan May God rest his soul, who was keen to make the UAE at the forefront of the countries in the world that extend a helping hand and help to the affected and needy people.
